Dr. Fonseca obtained his MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College in Poona, India, in 1974. He completed his MD at Bombay University in 1978 and obtained his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians in London, England, in 1980.
Dr. Fonseca is currently appointed as a professor of medicine and pharmacology at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is the chief of the Diabetes Program.
